Mom's and Dad's of a Different Kind! (Oswego to Oak Park)

Based in the Oswego and Oak Park areas, this group is for moms and dads in the Chicagoland Area who are striving to raise their children with values alternative to the mainstream. This can include Attachment Parenting, vegetarian or Natural Nursery/organic living, same-gender parents (two mommies/two daddies), and agnostic or atheist, Wiccan or pagan parents. There are already plenty of stay-at-home moms-only groups, so we extend a special invitation to dads and working parents as well, to be inclusive of all. The groups activities will be based on the interests of, and planned by, its members, but may include gatherings such as playgroups or picnics, nookgroups - playgroups, educational outings such as trips to museums, gardens, or zoos, and on-line discussions on our message board. We can even plan special workshops, babywearing, a special guest Q&A with a lactation consultant, or how to plan vegetarian meals for your toddler or child. We are seeking other parents who want to share in the joys and challenges of alternative parenting. Join and see if this group is for you!
